About Punky Lou Designs

Hi! My name is Hydee and I am the owner and one woman show behind Punky Lou Designs. I started out in the world of pediatric hospital social work after completing my Masters of Social Work, where I worked until my first daughter was born. Through my kids' younger lives, I discovered my incredible love for celebrating ALL. THE. THINGS. I enjoyed focusing on being with my kids when they were younger, but I always knew I wanted to do something for myself when my youngest was in school full-time. After deciding a return to social work wasn't the best fit for me, I went back to my love of celebrating and Punky Lou Designs was born. I enjoy everything about creating balloon art - the process, the end product, and especially the smiles and joy I am able to bring to the lives of my customers. The name Punky Lou is a combination of completely random nicknames I had for my older two kiddos (sorry #3!) when they were younger. Seeing as my love for celebrating started with my kids, the the homage to them in my business name felt quite appropriate.

When I'm not creating balloon magic, I'm busy being wife to my husband Ryan and mom to our 3 kids, Shira (Punky), Eli (Lou), and Lilah (sorry #3!), as well our goldendoodle, Penny, who is absolutely my fourth child! You can find me cheering on my kids at all of their things, walking the neighborhood with Penny while listening to a good audio book, and spending time with family and friends... and of course, always planning the next thing to celebrate!
